  • Case Study: The Desk With Seventeen Pens

A client came to us with a desk bearing seventeen pens, nine sticky notes, a stapler, a rubber duck and a bowl of paper clips. She said she could not think. She said the desk felt loud.

Master Oolong sat down in the chair, faced the desk, and was silent for a full quarter hour. Then he reached out and nudged the rubber duck. The duck fell. A small cry went up from the client. Then, one by one, the pens followed, the notes fluttered, the clips scattered.

When it was over, the desk was clear. She sat down and wrote a single sentence on a blank sheet of paper. We are not allowed to say what it was, but she paid us in full, and sent a card.

  • Letter From A Satisfied Client

We receive many letters, but this one from a woman named Delphine stayed with us. She wrote: ‘Before your visit I had a table covered in forty small things. After your visit I had a table. I did not know a table could look like that. I wept. I swept. I wept again.’

She continued: ‘You removed a candle, a tin of buttons, a figurine of a frog, a bowl of keys and my husband’s reading glasses. He has not forgiven you. I have never been happier.’

We keep the letter in a drawer. We have not yet knocked it out. We are not ready.

  • Client Story: The Shelf Of Mr. Hendricks

Mr. Hendricks, a retired accountant, owned 412 snow globes. He called them his joy. When we arrived, the shelf bowed in the middle like a tired smile. He wept openly, and said he could not let go.

We said nothing. Bao brewed tea. Master Oolong sat for forty minutes, studying the globes, and then released the first one. Mr. Hendricks gasped. Then he laughed. Then he asked us to release another.

By evening, the shelf held 31 globes and a small, clean silence. Mr. Hendricks said the room felt larger. It was, by roughly 380 snow globes. He sent us a plant. We released that too, with his blessing.
